So what do you do when you produce an outstanding barrel of Merlot? Not that this wine is Merlot… This is 36.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30.1% Cabernet Franc, 24% Merlot, 9.2% Malbec. Aromas of cedar plank and chocolate lead to a velvety texture framed with enough tannic structure to go the distance.
A house favorite, this wine tells the story of a winemaker who stopped worrying and learned to love Merlot. Judicious additions of Malbec and Cabernet Franc do much to help the cause. The result is a delicious, but approachable Bordeaux blend that will age well and accompany substantial dishes.
