2023 Chenin Blanc, 4Diamonds Vineyard, 750ml, 13.5%
For several years, we have been making this wine exclusively from the awkwardly steep “Ox-Block” at our very own “Mae’s Vineyard.” 2019 was a warm, relatively early year, which favored primary fruit aromas in fermentation. We ferment our Viognier in a mixture of stainless steel and acacia wood barrels. The acacia wood is less impactful than oak, and seems to offer more tropical characters. Tasting notes for this vintage include peach pie, apricot, and citrus rind aromas. The wine is textured, with medium body, but has a sense of minerality, with a crisp finish.
